This work from home situation, I genuinely think my 14 year old separation anxiety filled dog is getting tired of seeing me. How could she not? I'm tired of seeing me. I have been attempting to do a Batik without the proper resist. I usually would use a type of wax, but unfortunately hobby lobby closed before I was able to procure the wax. On another note, I tried a glue resist, It sort of worked but not really. I am not reverse batiking, so I'm dying the fabric first and then bleaching areas. It's working, but it is incredibly messy. This piece focuses on marital rape, which is still legal in the Bahamas. The politicians always avoid talking about it, and if they do talk they always mention God and Christianity as if God says that men can abuse their wives (the whole property thing). I'm not for it. So I'm making these pieces.
